Mangalore, Jun 11: A woman died, while her husband and son were injured, in a two-wheeler accident which occurred near Eshwarakatte in Bondel on Tuesday June 10.
The deceased has been identified as Keertana Pai (28), a native of Udupi.
Keertana used to live with her husband, Krishnananda Pai (37) who hails from Siddapur near Brahmavar, at the KPTCL quarters in Bondel here. Krishnanda works as assistant executive engineer for KPTCL Kavoor.
It is learnt that Keertana and her eight-year-old son, Kedar Pai, had returned from Bangalore on Tuesday morning. Krishnananda had picked the duo in his scooter. While proceeding towards their home, all the three fell to the road after the wheels of the scooter skidded on wet surface at Eshwarakatte. Keeertana, who suffered critical injuries in the accident, breathed her last before medical help could be extended. Both Krishnananda Pai and Kedar Pai, who suffered injuries, are being treated in a hospital.
Keertana owned Kedar Creations, and under this firm's banner, had organized several programmes, which were well received. A report relating to the accident was filed in the city (north) police station.
