Mangalore, Jun 6: Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will present its annual awards for Konkani authors and for those who have worked for promotion of the language at ceremony to be held at Dr Patil Puttappa Hall of Vidyavardhaka Sangh in Dharwad on June 22 at 4 pm.
The Academy will confer the Honorary Awards on N B Kamath for literature, John M Permannur for drama and Babu Gowda for Lok Ved.

The three eminent authors selected for Book Awards are Edwin J F D'Souza for his novel titled 'Kalen Bhangar' (Black Gold), Andrew L D'Cunha for his poems titled 'Anjuranchen Pan' and Fr Francis Rodrigues for his articles titled 'Meet Mirsang'.
The Yuva Puraskar will be presented to brother Joseph Cyril D'Souza for literature, Shantha P Kolle for art and Nivedita Sawant for sports.
A discussion programme with the awardees will be held on June 22 at 10.30 am.
Besides the felicitations, the programme will consist of traditional songs and folk dances of Konkani forefathers. Konkani Yakshagana, Janapada dance and magic show will be the added attractions.
The programme will be inaugurated by Vinay Kulkarni, MP, Dharwad and presided over by Roy Castelino, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy.
The Honorary Awards will be handed over by Umashree, minister for Kannada and culture. Book Awards will be presented by Dinesh Gundurao, district in charge minister of Dharwad and Yuva Puraskar will be presented by Meena Chandavarkar, vice chancellor of Karnataka Women's
University, Bijapur.
The souvenir will be inaugurated by Shivu Hiremut, mayor of Hubli-Dharwad corporation and and journal will be inaugurated by Prahlad Joshi, MP of Dharwad constituency.
K Dayanand, director of the department of Kannada and Culture, Bangalore and C Joslyn Mascarenhas, headmistress of Shanti Sadan Educational Institute will be the guests of honour.
Dr B Devdas Pai, registrar, Roy Castelino, president, Balwanth Rao Patil, joint director of the department of culture, Bangalore and B Chandrahasa Rai have invited one and all for the programme.
