Two Israelis facing trial in Goa escape

Panaji, June 4 (IANS): Two Israeli nationals, both arrested on the charge of possessing drugs, escaped from police custody while being escorted to a court, police said Wednesday.

Abrovanei Poz Minashe and Moshal Bassan, arrested earlier this year in the North Goa coastal belt, were being taken to the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Court in Mapusa, a town located about 10 km from here.

"They pushed me and ran away near the court premises," police constable Amol Naik said in his complaint filed at the Mapusa police station.
