Moodbidri, Jul 9: Vincent Mascarenhas (34), a resident of Tenka Yekkar in Neerude, riding his motorcycle, was knocked down by a speeding stone-laden lorry at Niddodi Dampa on Saturday noon. He was killed on the spot.

The lorry was on its way from Niddodi to Ganjimatt, which hit the motorcycle at Dampa, as a result of which Vincent was thrown to the ground, landing severe head injuries.

Breakneck speed of the lorry has been blamed for the accident. The driver immediately fled the place.
