Mangalore, Jul 8: "This is a scam time in the state.  While 'NICE' issue has been causing uproar in the corridors of Vidhana Soudha, Bellary BJP unit president and MLC Janardhan Reddy has come up with another issue.  His allegations that CM Kumaraswamy and forest minister Chennigappa have taken Rs 150 crore under the pretext of illegal mining cannot be taken lightly.  Both these scams should be handed over to CBI for an impartial enquiry," demanded former KPCC president and Rajya Sabha member B Janardhan Poojary.

He was speaking at a press conference held at Circuit House here on Friday July 7 afternoon.

He further said that the allegation about the illegal mining has come from BJP leader.  Since BJP is one of the ruling parties, these allegations cannot be taken for granted.  None would have dared to speak against the CM and cabinet minister unless he had some substantial facts to support his allegations.

"CM Kumaraswamy has been speaking as if he has achieved something great by putting hurdles on "NICE" way.  However, he should know that he is stopping the state from developing further.  What he has to do even after Supreme Court has given a clean chit to NICE?," he asked.

He also criticized former PM H D Deve Gowda for interfering continuously in the developmental activities in the state.

Congress leaders Suresh Ballal, Lancelot Pinto, Congress spokesperson Harikrishna Bantwal, MCC member Mahabal Marla were also present at the press conference.
