Mumbai, May 28 (IANS): It's been a decade since Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan-starrer "Hum Tum" hit the screens. Kunal Kohli, who directed the entertaining romantic comedy, says the audiences gave the movie "cult status".
"Thanks for your wishes on 10 years of 'Hum Tum'. My most special film. But you guys made it the cult film it is. Can't thank you enough for the love," Kohli tweeted Wednesday.
Produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, the movie narrates the recurring meetings of two individuals - Karan and Rhea - who gradually become friends and eventually find love. The story is also made engaging via two comic animated characters - Hum and Tum.
The songs of the film were hugely popular, and Saif and Rani's changing avatars were appreciated too.
Saif even won a best actor National Film Award for his performance, and even bagged the best performance in a comic role Filmfare Award.
Rani was named the best actress at the 2005 Filmfare Awards for playing Rhea effectively, while Kohli was honoured with the best director trophy at the same event.
