Udupi, Jul 7: Addressing the mediapersons here on Friday at 9-30 am, Samajwadi party's state president S Bangarappa severely criticized the attack on mediapersons at Manipal some days ago and assured the media community of his full support 'right till the end'.

Some of the points he put forward were as follows:

1. The attack of the mediapersons was an affront to democracy.

2. Snatching a camera was tantamount to snatching someone's pen.

3. The false cases filed against the mediapersons should be immediately withdrawn.

4. It was wrong on the part of a minister to have defended the action of his son. He should apologize in the legislative house to the media community.

5. A case should be filed against the assailant for the attack on the mediapersons and he should be immediately arrested.

He also assured the media community that he would speak to state home minister M P Prakash immediately to take suitable action against the persons concerned based on the points mentioned by him.
