Panaji, May 21 (PTI): Directed by Abhijit Panse and starring Mahesh Manjrekar, Pushkar Shrotri in the lead roles, the film throws light on a different side of the crime world.
Films 'Anvat' and 'Bioscope' will premiere at the festival. 'Bioscope' is a compilation of four stories based on four different poems and directed by four directors including Ravi Jadhav, Gajendra Ahire, Viju Mane and Girish Mohite.
There will also be a special screening of a compilation of short films by renowned Marathi filmmaker Umesh Kulkarni.
Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade will also launch the trailer of his upcoming second home production 'Poster Boys'.
Actor-producer Riteish Deshmukh, who received his first National Award for his second production venture 'Yellow', is also expected to make an appearance at the festival.
Ashalata Wabgaonkar, a Marathi theatre and film veteran, will be conferred with the special 'Kritadnyata Puraskar' this year.
The veteran was born in Goa and has acted in more than a 100 Hindi and Marathi movies.
The festival is also considered a major launching ground for the new actors and films from the industry. The schedule consists of 15 Marathi films, including a few filmmakers, who will present their latest work; tributes to certain artistes; current box-office favourites and remarkable films from the past.
The festival will host a bevy of Marathi stars, including Mrinal Kulkarni, Mahesh Manjrekar, Mohan Agashe, Milind Soman, Sai Tamhankar, Tushar Dalvi, Amruta Subhash, Gauri Gadgil, Usha Nadkarni, Aishwarya Narkar, Ashok Sawant, Vandana Gupte, Priya Bapat and Aniket Vishwasrao, among others.
