Riyadh, May 14: After the stupendous success of Gulf Voice of Mangalore (GVOM), seasons 2 and 3 semi-finals organized by Aangann Konknnechem Riyadh (AKR), the association is all set to host Gulf Voice of Mangalore season 4 semi-finals yet again to select the Voice of Arabia.
AKR will host the preliminary round of Konkani singing contest Gulf Voice of Mangalore 4 for the members of the Konkani-speaking community residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The event will be held on Friday, June 13 at 10:30 am in Riyadh on Konkani Day (Gayan, Nach ani Natkulyancho Meall: Konknecho Dees).
At the event, 12 best singers (6 male and 6 female) will be selected for the semi-finals, which will be held on Friday September 19, 4 pm onwards in Riyadh to select two best (one each of male and female) voices for the finals.
The grand finale will be on Friday November 7at Grande Hall of Al Falaj Hotel – Ruwi, Sultanate of Oman under MCCP Muscat.
The competition is open to singers of Mangalore origin with residence in Saudi Arabia. The contestant should be 18 years of age on or before the preliminary round in June 2014. Visit visa holders are not entitled to participate in the competition.
The competition is dedicated to Konkani solo songs only from the released Mangalorean albums (DVD/CD/cassette). Religious hymns are not allowed. Only box guitar will be allowed during the preliminary rounds. Any song which devalues the moral code or is in any way a kind of attack on religion, person or country is not permitted.
The purpose of this competition is to promote singing and to discover new talent in the Konkani community.

Children can also show their talent with singing, dance, skit, fancy dress etc. Those who are interested to participate can register their names.
Aangann Konknnechem Riyadh is a non-profitable organization involved in promoting Konkani culture and language through various programmes in Riyadh. It has also conducted several programmes to help the youth to promote their talent since its inception in 2007. Besides, it is involved with several charitable institutions in Mangalore.
