Karkala, May 11: Call it destiny or mere coincidence. A pair of identical twins from Ajekar here have secured exactly the same marks in second PUC examinations, the results of which were declared on May 8.
Ashwini M Nayak and Anuradha M Nayak, both aged 18, students of Sai Angels College, Chikamagalur scored a commendable total of 570, that is 95 percent in the PU exams.
They are the daughters of Manjunath Nayak, a senior judge, and Rekha M Nayak.
The twins pursued their education from first standard to PU in the same schools and the same class. However, bagging similar marks in one of life's most important exams is something that has around much curiosity among the locals.
Like most identitical twins, Ashwini and Anuradha are not easily distinguishable at first sight. It is a wonder that the answers they wrote fetched them the same marks from the evaluators, say the locals. Indeed, one might as well say that their gene got translated on to their exam papers too!
They are now all set to pursue engineering. Here's wishing that they go on to climb each rung of the ladder of success hand-in-hand.
