Karkala, Jun 24: The forest department police have on Thursday June 22 have arrested one person while transporting sandalwood illegally at Perdur-Koodu Road near Hebri here.
The arrested have been identified as Harish alias Sudhakar (22), son of Kunda Hasalana of Jaddumane near Kabbinale near here. The police have seized sandalwood worth Rs 26,000 from Harish. The police have also seized a mobike used in transporting sandalwood.
The accused has already been produced before the Udupi court which has remanded him to judicial custody.
