Kundapur, Apr 29: Repoll had been ordered at booth No 174 – government model higher primary school, Uppinakudru in the taluk, which falls within Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency, by the Election Commission.

The commission had ordered for repoll at this booth because of some defect noticed in the electronic voting machine used here for the April 17 polling.

The exercise, being conducted on Tuesday April 29 began in the morning.

This booth has 538 male voters and 629 female voters.

Repolling is being held in 12 polling stations spread across nine Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka due to technical problems in electronic voting machines during the April 17 single-phase polls. Four election officials, who committed the mistake, were suspended.

Apart from Shimoga, repolling is under way in polling stations located in Lok Sabha constituencies of Tumkur, Haveri, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar and Hassan.
