Mangalore: Vasudeva visits polling booths on election day

Media Release

Mangalore, Apr 18: The Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha candidate from the Aam Aadmi Party M R Vasudeva made a flying visit to numerous voting locations on Thursday April 17.

He met the volunteers, checked the booth organization and used the opportunity to meet the people heading to vote. He started his campaign by visiting Bunder, Ganapathi high school, Jeppu, KC Road, Ullal, Derlakatte, Konaje, BC Road, Uppinangadi, Kadaba, Puttur, Sullia, Kodikanna, Kabaka, Bantwal, Bajpe and Kinnigoli before returning to Mangalore city.

“The feedback I have personally received has been extremely positive and the experience has been uplifting. I will remain optimistic that the aam aadmi, the hard working unsung heroes of our society have seen through the drama of the existing parties who are doing nothing about the corruption that enriches a few and impoverishes the common man,” he said.

“The response I have seen is a positive sign for AAP which has heralded a break from the politics of the past. Politics will never be the same in India and the people have to thank AAP for bringing about this change,” said M R Vasudeva.

He said, “Despite our organizational limitations, lack of funds and being just a year and a half old, we have made a significant impact. Our fight is against corruption; win or lose, the fight will go on; it must go on.”

At a meeting held at the AAP-DK party headquarters later in the evening, Vasudeva expressed his gratitude to those who cast their vote in his favour and to those who voted for the others, he appreciated them for exercising their democratic rights and for those who did not vote he hoped they would do so during the next occasion and participate in our vibrant democracy.

He expressed his gratitude to the volunteers who worked for his campaign, the people who supported him both directly and indirectly, the donors, members of the press, the election commission and the police. He said that it had been a peaceful election with an excellent turn out which should make all of us proud.

“We have shown that being principled; fielding a capable and accomplished candidate can overcome muscle and money power that backed poorly qualified or career minded politicians. We campaigned on a meager budget and the results have been amazing. The proof will be seen on Friday May 16 when the results are announced,” said Rohan Shiri the AAP-DK secretary.
