Panaji: President Pranab Mukherjee confers Sangeet Natak Akademi fellowship

Panaji, Apr 15: President Pranab Mukherjee conferred the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for 2013 at a function in Darbar Hall of  Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday April 11.

The Sangeet Natak Akademi awardees received a cash purse of Rs 1 lakh, shawl and a tamrapatra.

Sangeet Natak Academy award is one of the highest award for the contribution in the theatre and performing arts of the country. Pundalik Narayan Naik (category- playwright) and Vasant Josalkar (category- acting) were the Goan personalities who were conferred with the award. Earlier, decade ago Goan Tiatrist M Boyer was conferred with the award.
