Mangalore, Apr 3: Addressing a press meet held in the city at the district BJP campaign office on Thursday April 3, Krishna J Palemar said, “People are suffering due to the clearance of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ), which comes under Sections 3 and 2 of the Environment Protection Act. But now, to get the clearance done, people have to go to Bangalore.”
“The problem of single site still exists. He (Bava) alleges that in my tenure there were no developments, no peace,” he added.
He also said that Mohiuddin Bava has taken a contract of Rs 40 crores for the work on the MSEZ and has given a 2% share to the ANS company in Delhi.
Palemar continued to say that people alleged that there was development; law and order during his tenure; but today, within nine months of coming to power, about 86 cases have been registered from the constituency, among which, nine are related to cattle theft.
Later he added, “All those accused in crimes are from the vicinity of the MLA’s residence.”
Palemar spoke of the death case of Sumathi Pai which has not yet been solved; the case on the youth of Kodikere was registered due to the fear of losing the elections.
He concluded by saying that no youth have assaulted or harassed the corporator and that they have the video records as proof.
BJP district president Prathap Simha Nayak, Yogish Bhat, Umanath Kotian and Diwakar Samani were also present on the occasion.
