Udupi, Mar 26: On the last day of filing nominations, Congress candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency Jayaprakash Hegde submitted his papers at the DC's office here on Wednesday March 26.

Jayaprakash Hegde was accompanied by union minister Oscar Fernandes, his wife Blossom, Chikmagalur Congress district president D L Vijaykumar and party leader Motamma.

Addressing reporters after filing the nomination, J P Hegde said, "I am confident of winning by a margin of around one lac votes."

"The work I have done and the rapport I have maintained with the people of the constituency are my strengths. I am sure that they will support me this time too," he added.

Commenting on Independent MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty, he said, "Only some of his supporters have joined BJP, but most are neutral like Halady."

"The party workers are united and their efforts will bring us victory," he said.

District incharge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and a large number of supporters were present.

Look at the style of filing nomination by Poojary in Mangalore and JPH in Udupi. Both are totally different.JPH filed in a very simple manner without show of going to temple,Mosque, church etc.,Truely a professional and he is a people's leader who believes in the work is worship.I like it.

All the best Mr. Jayaprakash Hegde, you are sure to win, never in doubt, but not by big margin, as MS Shobha Karnadlaje will give you a good fight, as she will garner more votes from women and vokkaliga community in Chicmagalur, people of Udupi should understand, this is not just Udupi Lok Sabhga seat, like before, its Udupi-Chicmagalur Lok sabha seat, and Mr. Hegde has done nothing to Chicmagalur, he never even bothered to visit the area of that part, belonging to his constituency, if you don't believe ask the people of that region. but saying that he is best and clean candidate among three ( including Ms. Shobhakka & Mr. Dananjay Kumar).
Mr. J.P. Hegde, we fully support you, we will never get a better candidate than you, although we should say you are a right person in wrong corrupt party.
Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka, Jai to Mr. J.P. Hegde.

GOOD LUCK JP ..Please bring in some changes. There is no driange in chikmagalur ,no proper planning in the last 5 years. chikmagalur has the potential to develop as an education hub like ooty , promote homestays globally for planters, build planters mandi where small growers can export , encourage fish exports from udupi, promote UDUPI for medical tourism which has excellent scope only you need a small airport , udupi hotels should be promoted globally ...

    @ Vijay Kumar,
Modi has neither been tried, nor been exonerated by the court, for his role in the violence in Gujarat in 2002. The legal argument to date has centered on WHETHER HE SHOULD stand trial.

The truth is that Modi managed to HIDE, TWIST and SUPPRESS facts regarding his involvement in front of S.I.T because he pressurized police and judiciary in Gujarat to hide or cover all truth.

The biggest piece of evidence is that Sanjiv Bhatt, IPS officer was present during the meeting when Modi authorized the Gujarat genocide.

Therefore, Modi is yet to stand trial in any court and face full force of law.
