Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Mar 23 : A passenger from Dubai who landed at the Mangalore International Aiport on Saturday March 22 was arrested by the Bajpe police.

42-year-old Abdul Munir Kunhi, a passenger who arrived from Dubai on Saturday evening flight which landed at around 5.45 pm at Mangalore airport was arrested by Bajpe police for allegedly misbehaving with co-passengers and air hostesses. Officials speaking to daijiworld said that the passenger was drunk during the flight.

"The passenger was drunk even before boarding the flight, despite several requests to behave himself, he was misbehaving and causing inconvenience to co-passengers as well as to the aircraft crew. Bajpe police have arrested him upon his arrival Mangalore airport and are investigating," said an Air India official to daijiworld.

It may be recalled in the past also such incidents were reported. In 2008, Air India flight from Mangalore to Dubai made a landing in Mumbai airport after two drunken  passengers misbehaved with fellow passengers and the crew.

In the year 2012, two passengers were arrested in Dubai airport for allegedly misbehaving with the crew and co-passengers.

All This because, we can get less food to buy in AirIndia express, than alcohol. The Air hostess immediately announce there is alcohol in your flight immediately after take off. If any one wants come soon.

Any sort of misbehavior and safety should be sternly dealt with.

In fact for such attitudes he should be banned from air travel. Cause the after effect of such untoward behavior can lead to disaster.

H.A.Sayed, More you pay, the better service you get and it is simple logic. Moreover, here the drunken misbehavior has no connection with the Air India service. Take any other airline having much better services at a higher rate, some bad elements of these kind try to show-off, stunts with the air crew and this is their true color. Don't blame any airline.

I don't understand why there are some Indians while they are in the Gulf countries act like saints and sober citizens. Once they land in India they become hyper, arrogant and think they can do anything and get out of it. These people should be taught lessons.

Because people are afraid of strict rules and regulations, if they get caught for such behavior they will ban for life long. India also needs such strict rules and regulations.

When the flight crew dance to some Pichkari song, it's in good spirit, whereas anyone doing the same is termed as doing it in high spirit. If the passenger was drunk prior to departure, there is every reason to offload in Dubai itself. Why travel with dangerous material on board? Anyways, if he was drunk, he should be punished if not the cabin crew should be dismissed.

Good move. Good that airline crew decided to get this person arrested at landing airport and as the flight was not diverted, good for other passengers. People should know how to behave with fellow passengers and crew. Some people treat airlines crew as their servants. This treatment should be stopped.

Yes dear Bro Shankar, Drinking or consuming alcohol is haram in Islam. But its a person wish, they know what is haram & what is halal.

Islam takes an uncompromising stand towards alcohol and forbids its consumption in either small or large quantities. Alcohol is undoubtedly harmful and adversely affects the mind and the body. It clouds the mind, causes disease, wastes money, and destroys individuals, families, and communities.
