Mumbai, Mar 21: The thoroughly renovated, remodelled and refurbished Santacruz (west) branch of The Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Ltd started functioning at Rizvi Park, S V Road, on Thursday March 20, on the auspicious occasion of Sankashtahara Chaturthi and Vasanta Vishu. This branch had been opened as the 28th branch of the bank in 2001.
Working president of Bharat Co-operative Bank, Jaya C Suvarna, who also happens to be the honorary president of Billavar Association Mumbai, inaugurated the renovated premises by cutting the ribbon. Hotellier, Raghuram K Shetty, who happens to be one of the senior most clients of this branch, and former president of AHAR, Narayana Alva, officially threw open various services of the branch by lighting the traditional lamp.
Former director of the bank and president of Billavar Association Mumbai, L V Ameen, directors of the bank, K N Syuvarna, J A Kotian, Bhaskar M Salian, S B Ameen, Chandrashekhar S Poojary, Harishchandra G Mulky, R D Poojary, Ashok M Kotian, and C T Salian, as also chief executive officer and managing director of the bank, C R Mulky, graced the occasion and extended best wishes for the overall success of the branch.
In his address, Jaya Suvarna thanked the customers for steadfastly contributing to the business growth of the bank. ‘Our bank has always been striving to provide prompt and transparent services to our highly valued customers. This branch has been renovated with a view to render better services with the added touch of modernity. Cooperative banks, which are committed to serve the people through their financial and other transactions, also have served the economic sector by creating awareness among their clientele. These banks have also been upgrading their services in the light of changing times and changing needs of the clients. Bharat Bank has also been moving ahead in this direction, aiming at reaching a total branch network of 100,’ he explained.
Dasa Bhargava Dhananjaya Shanti Ulloor performed rituals like Vaastu puja, Ganahoma, and Satyanarayana puja. Dinesh S Anchan and Jyoti Dinesh couple participated in religious programmes. Shekhar Shanti performed Dwara Puja, while Gangadhar Kalladi distributed Teertha and Prasadam.
