The BJP election office located near Bunts Hostel here was inaugurated on Thursday March 20.
The office was inaugurated by BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel along with other leaders of BJP with the traditional lighting of the lamp.
A formal stage programme was also held on the occasion. Nalin Kumar Kateel, leaders Sulochana G K Bhat, Lalaji R Mendon, Gangadhar Gowda, Capt Ganesh Karnik, Monappa Bhandary, Pratap Simha Nayak, Rukhmaya Poojary, Yogish Bhat and others were present on the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Rukmayya Poojary said, "It is evident with all the smiles and happiness around us today that we will win the forthcoming elections. Supporters gathered in huge numbers during BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's recent visit to Mangalore; that itself was an indication of BJP's victory and people's nod for Modi as the next PM."
"People have already chosen Modi as their next PM and NDA will win around 300 seats in the general elections. The UPA has completely failed in its administration especially with regard to national security and in various other ways. If the UPA does come to power, the country is sure to witness a downfall in the future," he said.
"Nalin Kumar Kateel currently secures the second place in terms of funds utilization and the fact that he has been chosen to contest is an added advantage to our party. He will definitely win. There are also chances that he will be chosen as a union minister in the future," he added.
"The opposition candidate is a veteran leader and I respect him on personally, but we will not tolerate any ill speaking against anyone, and especially against Modi. Religion, caste and party are not important but we must vote for the development of the nation and make Modi as the next PM," he urged.
Addressing the gathering, candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel requested for blessings from all the people gathered prior to filing his nomination.
"We have to win and Modi has to become the next PM," he declared.
