Dubai, Mar 18: UAE Tulukoota, Dubai, is heading for its silver jubilee celebration, aimed at promoting Tulu language and culture in UAE, and will bring stage yet another mega Tulu drama event on May 23, 2014, at Sheik Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School, Dubai.
Mohan Rai Karnoor, Mumbai and Middle East convener, Cha Parka troupe, is organizing this drama event in association with UAE Tulu Koota Dubai, by bringing in the famous Tulu drama troupe of Mangalore, ‘Cha Parka Kalavidaru’. It is for the sixth time that the UAE Tulu Koota has entertained the UAE audience in this manner and Rai proudly said that no troupe from Mangalore has toured the Middle East six times.
‘Telikeda Bolli’, Karnataka Rajyotsava award recipient Devdas Kapikad, writer, director and actor of Cha Parka Kalavidaru is a name to reckon in the Tulu drama field who has entertained millions of Tulu drama lovers across the continents. Every year he has been staging new dramas with new themes and social messages which he spreads across the masses through his own style of wit and sharp dialogues with a sugary coat. The troupe has completed 27 successful years of entertaining Tulu drama lovers and has spread the rich Tulu language all across India and the Gulf regions with some effective moral message.
Kapikad has staged more than 50 Tulu dramas, exceeding 6,000 shows across the globe, a record which among all drama troupes of repute. He is coming here with his two dramas—‘Pudar Deetijji’ which has already entertained thousands of spectators and is one of the best performances by comedian Tulu drama actor Naveen D Padil and ‘Podiyorchi Yannu Ulle’ another master creation of Kapikad which has already seen houseful shows in and around Mangalore. The story line of this drama is more or less common in undivided Dakshina Kannada district and there is a good social message for society.
C R Shetty, convenor of UAE Tulu Koota, has requested all fans of Cha Parka troupe to witness these two super hit dramas and it is after many years that Kapikad, Padil, and Vamanjoor will be sharing a stage.
