Bahrain: Konkani Kutam to host Lancy Moras Nite on May 22

Bahrain, Mar 16: Konkani Kutam Bahrain in association with Sacred Heart Catholic Church Konkani Community will be staging a Konkani cultural extravaganza featuring 'Lancy Moras Nite', inclusive of cultural dances and comedy skits at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium, Sacred Heart Catholic Church on May 22 from 7.30 pm onwards.
The event will be organized in support of the new Cathedral building at Awali.
The evening will be full of entertainment with the latest Konkani melodies, peppy and sentimental hits from the new sensation of Konkani music Lancy Moras. He will be supported by female lead singer Venessa Saldanha from Dammam, Lancy’s daughter Moushmi Moras and talented local artistes.
In addition, with 'Pokri' group's witty skits, the audience is sure to have an evening full of entertainment to remember. The programme, which is expected to be houseful, will be compered by award-winning MC Ronald Olivera, Padukone.
Lancy Moras has successfully presented five Konkani Musical Nites altogether, including two shows at Don Bosco Hall, Mangalore, one at St Agnes Special School grounds, Mangalore, one in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and one in Dammam Saudi Arabia. He was also invited to be a guest Konkani singer at Alnasr Poolside in Dubai. Lancy Moras has already released two Konkani albums and a third one is due to be released by December this year. An upcoming musical nite of Lancy Moras in Mangalore in August this year is under the tentative plan. Lancy Moras has composed over 100 Konkani songs and over 25 Konkani devotional hymns. Since childhood Lancy participated in inter parish, school, and college singing competitions and won prizes. His inspiration has been Konkan Kogull the late Wilfy Rebimbus and his guide has been Konkan Kalashree Claud D’Souza.
The entry passes for the programme were launched at a ceremony at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium, Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, March 15 after the 6.30 pm Konkani mass. In the presence of Konkani Kutam convener Henry D’Almeida, committee member Ronald Fernandes, Sacred Heart Catholic Church Konkani Community coordinators Fredrick D’Souza and Francis Correa on the dais, Fr Freddy D’Souza released the entry passes for the programme and appealed the parishioners to attend the event and support the worthy cause.
The show is a part of Konkani Kutam Bahrain’s objectives to promote Konkani language, culture, and new talent while supporting a worthy cause.
