Mangalore, Mar 12: The Karnataka Konkani Literary Conference – the first in the series of 4 Literary Conferences planned by the All India Konkani Writers’ Organisation (AIKWO), will be held on March 16 at Kalaangann, Mangalore.
The remaining three conferences will be held in Kerala (May), in Maharashtra (August) and in Goa (October).
The literary conference will be inaugurated by senior Konkani litterateur, Fr Mark Valdar.
Roy Castelino, the president of Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy will be honoured on the occasion. A collection of children’s stories, by J F D’Souza, titled ‘Bhangarachem Suknnem’, will be released at the Conference.
Among the eminent resource persons are Dr Anil Pinto, registrar, Christ University, Bangalore; Vasant Shetty, columnist and language activist, Bangalore; Fausto Da Costa, editor (Gulab), Goa. There will be a Yuva Kavi Sammellan of 12 young poets. Kalakul will also stage a mini drama titled ‘Bodlavonn? (change)’. There will be an interaction with a senior Konkani writer from Goa, Jess Fernandes.
