Kundapur, Mar 12: “In Kundapur assembly constituency, which falls under Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency, 87,868 men and 96,907 women are eligible to exercise their franchise. Byndoor constituency, which forms a part of Shimoga Lok Sabha constituency, has 95,260 male and 1,05,897 female voters. Kundapur will have 215 polling booths, while Byndoor will be provided with 249 polling booths,” explained local assistant commissioner, Yogeeshwar.

He, accompanied by Byndoor special tahsildar, Prabhulinga Udupi, was providing details of measures taken in these two assembly constituencies to ensure that election is conducted in a hassle-free and fair manner. The press conference was conducted on Tuesday March 11 at the office of the sub-divisional officer here.

“Kundapur constituency has 35 super sensitive, 79 sensitive, 101 normal, and eight naxal area polling booths. Byndoor has 29 super sensitive, 88 sensitive, 105 normal, and 18 naxal area polling booths.  For facilitating poll-related work, Kundapur will have 17 sector officers’ teams, three model code of conduct teams, three flying squads, three video surveillance teams, a video weaving technical team, an expenditure surveillance team, and three check posts, he said.

He also added that 19 teams headed by sector officers, three model code of conduct teams, three flying squads, three video surveillance teams, a video weaving team, an expenditure surveillance team, and three check posts will be operational in Byndoor constituency. A helpline (08254-230357) has been set up at the taluk office, for enabling voters to get their problems redressed or to get information about voting.  Information can also be sought from first grade assistant, Ravi (9535289584) in Kundapur constituency, and phone No. 0824-251657 in the office of Byndoor special tahsildar or cell phone No. 9448770455 of Byndoor Shirastedar can be contacted by the concerned, he explained.
