Udupi: Missing 5-year-old boy's skeletal remains found at Pamboor

Udupi, Mar 9: In a tragic turn of events, the five-year-old boy from Pamboor who went missing all of a sudden about a fortnight ago was found dead on Sunday March 9.
Naveen, son of Nagaraj and Asha of Tamil Nadu, residents of Dharmashree Colony in Pamboor near Padubelle, Kaup went missing on February 23.
On March 9, Naveen's skeletal remains were found some distance away from Dharmashree Colony during a search operation. His skull and bones were found on a hillock.
On February 23, Naveen was seen playing in the courtyard of his home, just before he went missing. He had told the family that he was going to visit the house of his maternal uncle in the neighbourhood, but did not return home.
For the last 15 days, the police, locals and family members have been searching for Naveen but he was nowhere to be found.
On Sunday morning, a person by name Swaminathan went to the hillock to relieve himself, when he spotted a skull. He immediately alerted the residents of Dharmashree Colony, who in turn informed the police.
Bones were found near the skull, along with the deceased boy's footwear and clothes.
Police team led by ASP Annamalai rushed to the spot along with fingerprint experts and a canine squad. As per the request of police, doctors from KMC hospital, Manipal also came to the spot.
District incharge minister Vinaykumar Sorake, Udupi SP Dr Boralingaiah, ASP Santhosh Kumar, Kaup circle inspector Sunil Naik, DCIB police inspector Praveen Nayak, Shirva SI Ashok, Kaup SI Rajendra Naik and other officials came to the spot and conducted investigations.
Shirva police have registered a case. Further investigations are on.
