It was a very tragic where many members of one family lost their lives. I extend my deep condolence to their dear ones and my deepest sympathy to their surviving children. Inna lillahi wa inna lillahi rajiwoon!
The accident took place around 3:30 am while almost nearing Riyadh. It was purely due to dosing by Latheef who was behind the wheel.
During long journey one should not prefer late night driving due to overstress and fatigue. Most of the times when the travel nears their destination, there is a tendency by these long distance drivers to reach home somehow and they drive very fast to reach back earlier and to overcome stress and fatigue.
Always the last one hour of long distance driving is very dangerous. If the driver is over stressed with long hours of driving, they should always take a short break at a few places to get re-freshened in the form of few minutes rest, then a cup of hot tea/coffee and finally a stretch exercise and a short jog. The co-passenger specially sitting next to the driver should keep conversing with the driver with some interesting or funny topics. This will keep the driver more alert. In the end it is their destiny which nobody can change.
