Mangalore, Mar 7: Minister for health and family welfare U T Khadar on Friday March 7 said that the Congress government was not responsible for the approval of the controversial Yettinahole project and that it was the BJP which had passed it.

Addressing a press meet at the Congress office, he said, "I want to thank all the people of this district and all the organisations for fighting for land and water.

"When the BJP government was in power, the then chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda had approved this project. When this project was given the green signal, the Dakshina Kannada people did not raise their voice against it. I did my job when I was in the opposition party. I have always been opposed to this project. But people are opposing this project only now, after everything is done," he said.

"The MP of Dakshina Kannada is not at all interested in this matter. When the tender was raised in the assembly for the Yettinahole project we were not informed," he added.

Khadar praised former Congress MLA Vijaykumar Shetty for his support to the cause but said that Shetty should have protested when the project was first passed. He also advised the people to fight against any project that would adversely affect Dakshina Kannada district.

In clear support of Congress leader Janardhan Poojary who is one of the contenders for Lok Sabha ticket, Khadar said, "If Janardhan Poojary had been the MP, this project would have been stopped at any cost. He is a genius."

He also came to the support of union minister Dr Veerappa Moily and said, "Union minister Veerappa Moily has not done anything wrong. He is providing water to his constituency Chikballapur and is supporting the project to win the hearts of the people of his constituency. He is doing the right thing by supporting the project."

He added, "Putting the blame on BJP is not the main issue here. The important thing is that what the Dakshina Kannada people are going to face in the future. Due to this project, politicians who are going to contest in Dakshina Kannada district will have bad results in the end and people should think and vote for the right candidate. Later people should not complain that they voted for the wrong person."

He also showed clippings of his interaction with farmers and the media in Kolar where he clarified the doubts of the people.

Eshwar Ullal, Krishna Gatty, Santosh Shetty and many others were also present during the press meet.

Dakshina Kannada ministers and MPs are good for nothing. They should have done something for this cause. Now Health Minister talks something rubbish. Why blame the previous Govt. anf the then Chief Minister DVS.Observing Bundh is of no use. Better to file a Public Interest Litigation petition in Supreme as well as High Court seeking Redressal for this Yettinahole Project.

Only in front they comment against each other to fool public later on they will be seen together partying in one table. Do not know whom to believe. Even the Draconian Law POTA was annulled. So to cancel a project is definetely possible. However, Mr Khader has to take care of the people of Kolar Dist. as he is the District in charge minister. So he is defending that it was done under Mr DVS regime.Look at our MCC. The Congress promised no more Taxes during the MCC elections and now the administartion has imposed Garbage Disposal Tax which is very exhorbitant. The politicians seem to be bulldozing people as they feel the people are not united to fight for their causes

I wish to reiterate what I had said in these columns earlier. The Congress and the BJP are hand in glove with each other. All these press statements and dramas are only for the purpose of fooling the people. At the end of the day, all these rogues from the BJP and the Congress drink from the same glass.

Moily promised the people of Chikballapur with Netravathi diversion and got elected as MP in 2009 and trying his luck using the same issue in 2014

Now Poojary is trying to win the election with a false promise to halt the project.

Moily has already fooled the people of Chikaballapur and Poojary is trying to fool the people of DK District.

It looks like Nethravathi diversion issue may remain alive till 2019 election and beyond.

Moily is an expert in laying foundations stones. There are innumerable number of foundation stones laid by Moily in and around Manglore and Chikaballur during the last couple of decades. These foundations stones either destroyed or covered with grass and weed. Moily will never visit those sites again in his life time.

To fool the general public Moily will pretend like trying to implement the project and Poojary will pretend like against the project. Ultimately voters from the Mangalore and Chikaballapur are taken for a ride.
At the end of the day, both Moily and Poojary join together might put all the blame on DVS for the project.

Khadar Bai, If you have courage to oppose Netravathi diversion please speak in the Assembly hall not ina press conference.
Both Moily and Poojary are trying take the credit and only blame goes to DVS

It's a face saving statement Mr. Khader. If DVS has initiated this Project, your Congress could stop this project. In contrary your Veerappa Moily has said, he will get this project implemented by all means. In your last press conference you said you are helpless in this regard. If you could not safeguard the interest of your people, why you are continuing in the Cabinet. Don't fool the people any more. Now I doubt the protest drama of former Congress MLA Vijaykumar Shetty.

Hence he should not blame others but blame himself, as he claims he has opposed it in the Assembly when he was in Opposition.
