Mangalore: SJEC hosts 'Zephyr' fest

Mangalore, Mar 5: Zephyr-14, ‘ Mahadhipatya’  a National-level PG Management Fest organized by the Department of Business Administration, St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore  was inaugurated on  March 4 at 9: 30 am in the Conference Hall, Civil  Engineering Block, SJEC.

The function was inaugurated by Dr M S Moodithaya Registrar, Nitte University, with SJEC assistant directors Fr Ajith Menezes and Rev Fr Rohith D’costa, principal Dr Joseph Gonsalves as guests of honour and director  Fr Joseph Lobo presiding over. Dean MBA Dr Prakash Pinto, faculty convener Shakila B and student conveners Golvin Peter and Arundas were also on the dais.

Dr  Moodithaya in his inaugural address, remarked that the present young  generation has ample opportunities in every sphere of life. They should make best use of it. He  recalled a saying of an  American futurist who said illiterates of 21st century are those who can’t learn, unlearn and relearn.  He advised the young students that they should come out of their comfort zone and take challenges of life with full confidence. 

Dr Gonsalvis greeted the participants and expressed that the  event of this kind would kindle the interest of young minds to act creatively. He expressed that the theme  Mahadhipatya’  is apt for the occasion.

Director Fr Joseph Lobo congratulated the department of business administration, SJEC for the effort put in organizing zephyr. He remarked two important attributes that an individual should posses believe in you and believe in others.  He wished all the participants the very best.                                                         
The SJEC MBA team choir presented an invocation.  Golvin Peter welcomed the gathering. Arun Das proposed a vote of thanks.  Divya  Rego compered the inaugural session.

Nineteen student teams from various MCom and MBA colleges from D K and Udupi district are participating at Zephyr 14.
