Mangalore: BILVS introduces IT programme for seniors

Mangalore, Mar 5: Balmatta Institute of Language and Vocational Studies (BILVS), an institution of KACES, initiated a unique IT educational programme for senior citizens in Mangalore Tuesday March 4.

This programme was announced by Dr Honey Cabral, principal, KTC, and secretary, KACES, during the seniors’ summer sports and cultural programme and the first batch of classes was dedicated on Tuesday at BILVS. 

Seniors who are entering the information super highway late in life and have children or grandchildren aboard, can now use technology to visually chat through Skype, send emails, be in constant touch with their friends, and also be active on social networking sites such as Facebook, and Twitter. Seniors in the city can now make use of this opportunity.

 BILVS has announced two batches at 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm, respectively. The basic course will be for 15 days. Seniors who are willing to register can contact 0824-2412958.

Sandeep Theophil, director-in-charge, BILVS, was present along with the teaching staff.
