Dubai: Arun D'Souza to lead Udenthichim Neketram in its decennial year

Dubai, Mar 4: Arun D'Souza from Vamadapadav was elected the president of 'Udentichim Neketram', Moodbidri Varado Catholic Association (MVCA) for its decennial year, during the annual general meeting held recently. Joshve D'Souza was elected the secretary.

Arun D'Souza, a dynamic youth, is a prominent member of Udenthicchim Neketram. Earlier he served as the vice-president of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Mangalore diocese.

The annual general body meeting started with a prayer by Richard Saldanha,Sampige followed by a welcome address by president Praveen Sequeira, Siddakatte. Secretary Vinay Pinto, Paladka presented the annual report for the year 2013 with details of the activities for the year. Treasurer Elias Lobo Hospet presented the finance report for the year.

Healthy discussion on previous year activities and future plans of the association was held during the day and the session was moderated by Ullas Fernandes, Siddakatte.

After lunch the election  process was conducted by Joshve D'Souza, Alangar. First, representatives from each parish were selected, and between them the new office-bearers were elected later.

Outgoing president Praveen Sequeira, Siddakatte expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the ex-managing committee and all the Association members for their partnership and support during the year.

Newly-elected president Arun D'Souza thanked everyone for their faith on him, and giving him an opportunity to lead the association. He also urged all 13 parish members to strengthen the association, and reach out to more needy people back home as well as in the UAE.

The AGM concluded with a vote of thanks by vice-president Cyprian Fernandes, Vamadapadav.
