Kasargod, Mar 4: Four persons of a family, including a one-year-old boy, from Kubanoor near Uppala here lost their lives on the spot in a an accident at Mushail, about 60 km from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, on Sunday March 2. The family was on a Umrah pilgrimage to Mecca.

Four of the family members suffered grievous injuries in this tragic accident. The catastrophe occurred when the car the family was travelling in hit a road divider.

Arabi (63) from Kedakkar in Kubanoor, his wife, Ayeshabi (52), son, Abdul Latif (32), and Latif’s son, Lisaan (1), lost their lives in this accident. Nisha (26), wife of Latif and a native of Mudipu, her children, Lasaan and Lihaan, as well as Nisha’s brother, Nissar, who suffered injuries of different degrees, were admitted into a local hospital.

The car, after hitting the divider, turned turtle, and got transformed into a bunch of mangled steel, it is learnt. The policemen had to put in efforts to bring the people from inside the court. Four were found dead, while the survivors were rushed to the hospital by the policemen.

As the injured people were in serious condition, identities of the accident victims could not be established immediately. Nissar, who gained consciousness on Monday, provided information about the people concerned, where after the policemen made arrangements to convey information to their native place. It is learnt that those admitted into the hospital are showing improvement.

Abdul Latif, who lost his life in the accident, was working as manager in a Riyadh-based company for the last some years, and had brought his wife and children to Saudi Arabia three years back. His parents, Arabi and Ayeshabi, had travelled to the Gulf region on visitors’ visa a month back. The entire family undertook Umrah, and the accident occurred while returning from the pilgrimage, it is gathered.

A large number of relatives and sympathizers are visiting the family’s house in Kubanoor Kedakkar after learning about this shocking accident. Sources in the family said arrangements are being made to transport bodies of the deceased to Kubanoor. Altaf and Siraj, brothers of Abdul Latif, stay at Kubanoor Kedakkar.

People make Yatra to gain eternal peace after death, but when they met death in between the Yatra means God wished something else. Though we can’t blame GOD for death, but it is heart burning to see one year child entered his Darbaar in this age. No doubt these four entered his Heavenly Darbaar but they left behind their family members with deep sorrow. Let us all pray together with Allah to rest their soul in peace forever and give strength to their family members to bear the great loss too
