Bantwal, Mar 3: “Hindu culture is the embodiment of spirituality, ancient heritage, apart from love and affection towards fellow beings. Hinduism preaches unity in diversity that are driven by these three principles,” said Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Odiyoor.

He was addressing the participants of ‘Jagruta Hindu Sangama’ programme organized on Sunday March 2 near Goddess Chandika Parameshwari Temple at B C Road.

“The present day society has given up richness of our ancient heritage and culture. This has provided encouragement to even the government to question our belief systems. Efforts are being made by the government to take over temples and Maths. In a nutshell, Hindu culture is being battered because of assault from various corners,” he explained.

He said that people need to be careful in choosing the right leader based on the dire necessity to take cudgels to protect themselves. Noting that fresh air is blowing through the country now, he exhorted the society to choose people who can give an able leadership to the country.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, who presided over the programme, felt that organizing of Hindu Sangama programmes is necessary to ensure unity, integration, and protection of Hindu society. Expressing his opposition to Netravati River Diversion Project, he questioned the stand of Congress leaders, some of whom are opposing the project, with several others stoutly supporting it. He asked these leaders to come forward and clarify their stands.

Karnataka state unit of Bharatiya Swabhiman Trust leader, Niket Raj, in his keynote address, requested people to choose Narendra Modi as the next leader of the country to ensure that the country remains united and becomes stronger.

A procession taken out before the programme was flagged off by Sri Viveka Chaitanyananda Swamiji of Polali Ramakrishna Tapovana near Kallige Polali arch.  Hindu Hitarakshana Samiti Bantwal taluk committee convener, Jitendra S Kottary, welcomed. Advocate, Prasad Kumar, delivered introductory address. Satish Pallamajalu proposed vote of thanks. Municipal councilor, Devadas Shetty, presented the programme.

Hinduism preaches unity - News Clip.

That exactly is the problem. It just preaches and its followers do not practice. Otherwise, how do you explain away caste system? Does it unite or divide.

Everything is easy to preach, difficult to practice.

Swamiji, I like your saying - “Hindu culture is the embodiment of spirituality, ancient heritage, apart from love and affection towards fellow beings". Who are the fellow beings Swamiji ? Only Hindus or non-Hindus as well. If non-hindus as well, then please give dialy half an hour class to a naughty child of Kalladka whose speech always contradicts your ideology. Jai Hind.

Hinduism has existed and grown stronger since 5000 years and now we don't need a 'Agent' like Kalladka Bhat to act as the watchman of Hinduism.

Bhat re... Hinduism has existed for thousands of years before you were born and will exist long after you are gone.

So, for the sake of a few votes , stop this nonsense!

Mangalore is turning to be a Hindutva laboratory through which Bhatt and Muttalik etc have been disrupting peace through their experiments. If its a Hindu gathering then why vote for BJP and Modi. Please take a close look at Modi itself in his speeches he doesn't talk about Hindutva. Even during his last rally in Mangalore, he not even uttered a word on it.And no way possible he builds a Hindu rasta. His interest will be business and will help to build industries for Ambani etc.The people of Dk hav to pay a heavy price for supporting people like Bhatt whose only intention is disrupting peace and gain popularity out of it.As per attack on Hindu culture who is doing it? If Hindus are 80% of the country, hindus are doing it not others. Its BJP who started taxing temples and then nobody spoke about it. Its clear that BJP is using hindu people just to gain vote and not to protect Hinduism. If that is the case, then this time Congress would not have to come to power in the state. Who voted congress to Power?..Hindus..not..the minority.

Hindus who vote other than BJP are not real Hindus???you are right this is the confusion among these leaders.
The leaders often forget that they are Hindu leaders and they want to remind people that they are Hindu leaders.
There is no need for a Sangama, what is needed is humanity and humanity is alive in society, these leaders are trying to kill it.

Nobody denies it, Hinduism preaches unity, But show where is the unity, India is struggling with food, education, health,culture,old-age issues, incursions, terrorism,Maoism, rapes,acid-attacks,scams,
no-governance,etc.etc. But ‘Netas’ are busy playing games of secularism and communalism, their goal is not to serve India, rather to serve their own pocket. Bakwas bandh karo!! Aur jago...
