Kasargod: Charge sheet filed five years after advocate's murder

Kasargod, Mar 2: Charge sheet relating to the murder of an advocate named Suhas, who was also the district vice-president of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh here, was filed after a gap of nearly five years on Friday February 28 in the court of the first class magistrate here.
Suhas had been killed at Kote Road in the town on April 17, 2008 by a gang when he was returning home from office. Though the motive was not known at the time, it was suspected that it had been an act of revenge.
The charge sheet identifies B M Rafiq (24) from Vidyanagar here, A A Abdul Rahiman alias Ammu (22) from near Market Road, P A Abdul Rahiman alias Rahim (22), K E Shafir alias Shaheer (23) from Koodlu village, Ahmed Shihab (23) living near M G Road in the town, and Ahmed Satwan (19) from Karippodi Road.
The police have not yet been able to identify the seventh accused who was involved in the case, it is said.
This case was investigated initially by the town police, before it was entrusted to crime branch. The crime branch headed by circle inspector of Kasargod wing, V Achutan, conducted the investigation.
