Mangalore, Mar 1: The third edition of Miss & Mr Mangalore 2014 will be held at Pandit's Health Resort and Spa, Moodbidri on Sunday March 2. The pageant aims to discover the freedom of expression and talent of women and men of Mangalore. This edition of the pageant will bring together the youth of Mangalore reflecting the culture and tradition of Mangalore in its truest colours and showcase Mangalore in its full splendour, its exciting blend of culture, tourist destinations and natural beauty to the entire world.
Abhayachandra Jain, minister for youth affairs and sports, will be the chief guest, while Amarnath Shetty, former minister and Jagadish Adhikari, BJP leader wll be the guests of honour.
The Miss Mangalore pageant is conceived and executed by Fashion ABCD in association with Dream Craft Creations. Fashion ABCD has been Mangalore’s first ever Model Training Studio and Boutique. The idea of conducting a beauty pageant under the title Miss Mangalore was conceived in the year 2012 and the event was held for the very first time in the same year.
The winner of this event will get direct entry into Miss South India 2015. The winners of the Miss Mangalore 2012/ 2013 who participated in Miss South India 2014 bagged all the top three titles of Miss South India, which was held in the month of January in Coimbatore.
The final event of the pageant consists of three-and-a-half hour programme with three sequences and cultural extravaganzas and will be directed by S Anupama Suvarna. As many as 19 contestants in each category will walk the ramp for the grand finale.
Sridevi Goel, retired DGP of Mumbai police, Nikhita Punja of Lakme Fashion Week, Harendra Singh, MD of Percept Group, Ajit Ravi Pegasus of Miss South India, Anand G from Anandg Bridals, Mumbai, Abhishiktha Shetty, Miss South India, Prithvi, Miss India finalist, Neelima Aggarwal of Luxury Chronicle Magazine, Dr Shilpa Shetty Naik, dental aesthetic specialist from Mumbai, Dr Sapna Dhananjay of Freya Aesthetic Centre, Sandeep Malani, Bollwood director, Mumbai, and Rajesh Bhat, Bollywood film producer of Rajesh Bhat Productions will be judging this event along with other prominent judges.
The grooming sessions will consist of yoga, meditation, personality development, question-answer session, catwalk, beauty tips, photoshoot, interaction, talent search, etc. This will help the contestants to enhance their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Grooming session will be completely focused on the culture and tradition of Mangalore. The girls are groomed by an expert panel of fashion choreographers and trainers. Suhail will choreograph and Dr Nithin and Nishan will be grooming the finalists in personality development and public speaking. Dr Sapna Dhananjay of Freya Aesthitic Centre and advisor at VLCC will be grooming the contestants with beauty and skin care, Dr Sishir Shetty will be grooming the contestants in dental aesthetic. Chethana, a well-known hair stylist and makeup artist of Chethana’s Beauty Studio will groom the contestants with make up tips and its advantages.
