Doha: Uphold values of brotherhood: U T Khadar at Beary Sammelan

Doha, Mar 1: Karnataka minister for health and family welfare U T Khadar, participating in the Beary Sammelan held here on Friday February 28, urged the jam-packed audience at the programme to uphold the values of brotherhood and respect all religions and cultures of all people in society. The minister appreciated all the Tulu forums from coastal Karnataka in Qatar for the love and unity they have maintained in the oil rich country of Qatar.
South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association (SKMWA), an affiliated forum of members hailing from coastal Karnataka from the Beary community had invited the minister for the inauguration of 'Beary Sammelan' at Al-Maha School.
The function started with the recitation of verses from the holy Quran by Mushfer. MC Sahil Zaheer invited all the guests to the dais. Badruddin, KPCC member, Kasim from Hidaya Foundation, Mohammed Asif, chairman of Amaco, Abdulla Monu, advisory board SKMWA, Abdul Majeed, president of SKMWA and all the managing committee members were president on the dais.
Kasim of Hidaya Foundation in his address highlighted the charity works done by his organization and outlined the ongoing projects of the Foundation. He also spoke on how one can help the needy by contributing in a big or small way.
SKMWA kabaddi champion team was felicitated on the occasion by heads of various forums in Qatar.
Earlier, Kasim delivered the opening address in Beary language. Adbul Majeed welcomed the gathering, Adbulla Monu delivered a brief introduction on Beary Sammelan, Mohammed Shameem read the profile of U T Khadar while Suheb proposed the vote of thanks. Mohammed Iqbal who came all the way from Mangalore entertained the audience with Beary songs and lovely numbers of Mohammed Rafi and also rendered regional songs. Prominent members from the Indian community Ravi Shetty, Deepak Shetty, Niyaz Ahmed, M Iqbal Manna, Seetharam Shetty, Ashmath Ali and several others attended the function. A dinner was served to the gathering.
MC Sahil Zaheer, a leading compere of Karnataka as usual enchanted the crowd with his unique shayaris in a commanding voice and kept the crowd engaged throughout. It was a well organized event by SKMWA led by president Abdul Majeed and executive committee, and supported and coordinated by Abdulla Monu.
Earlier, the minister was felicitated by Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMCA) at Royal Gardens. The minister spoke and appreciated the community members for their love and affection towards their people and the unity among community members. Hasan Chougle, Saeed Assadi welcomed the gathering, Saquib Raza Khan read a brief profile of the visiting minister and Ibraz Khan proposed the vote of thanks. Prominent Indian community leader Niyaz Ahmed, president of KMCA was also present on the dais. Prominent community leaders M Ravi Shetty, Divakar Poojary, Seetharam Shetty, Adbul Majeed, Ashmath Ali, Syed Abdul Hye, M I Farid and several dignitaries attend the function.
The minister later visited Layans Garden where he was jointly felicitated by Tulu Koota Qatar, Bunts Qatar, MCC and Qatar Billawas. Seetharam Shetty, president of Tulu Koota Qatar welcomed the gathering, Divakar Poojary, president of Qatar Billawas gave a brief introduction of the minister, Sunil D'Silva, president of MCC proposed the vote of thanks while president of Bunts Qatar M Ravi Shetty was the MC for the event.
In both the programmes there were interactive sessions by minister U T Khadar, during which he gave matured and informative answers to questions raised by the audience.
The minister later proceeded to the prize distribution ceremony of the ongoing badminton tournament hosted by Karnataka Sangha Qatar. Deepak Shetty, president of Karnataka Sangha Qatar welcomed the gathering and thanked the minister for taking time to visit the sports event.
