Kasargod: Miscreants set fire to vehicles

Kasargod, Feb 27: Unidentified miscreants set on fire a bike and a car parked in the premises of a house at Anangoor Tippunagar here in the wee hours of Thursday February 27.

While the bike was reduced to ashes, the car was partly burnt. As the residents of the house got up due to the sound, further destruction was averted. If not, house also might have been set on fire, said the locals.

The vehicles belong to B A Mohammed Kunhi of Tippunagar. Mohammed Kunhi and family had been to Uroos on Wednesday night and had returned late.

Police arrived in the morning and looked for the culprits. They have arrested few youth on suspicion for questioning. It is suspected that five people were involved in the crime. Few youth were wandering near the house of Mohammed Kunhi and were questioned by the locals. The police suspect that the youth might have set fire to the vehicles to avenge the incident.
