Kuwait: Ashley D’Silva elected president of SACAA

Media Release

Kuwait, Feb 27: Ashley D’Silva was elected the president of SACAA (St Aloysius College Alumni/nae Association), Kuwait during its annual general body meeting held at Avanti Palace, Salmiya.

The meeting was hosted by the executive committee members of the term 2011-2013 under leadership of the outgoing president Vinutha D’Mello.

SACAA Kuwait began over 9 years ago when like-minded Aloysian alumni/nae based in Kuwait felt the need to bond together and relive those memories and importantly support the Alma Mater wherever possible.

The outgoing president Vinutha D’Mello delivered her address and welcomed the gathering. Ashley D’Silva then delivered the report of the activities undertaken during 2011 – 2013 and thanked all the alumni/nae and committee for their unstinted support in the various events that were conducted during the last two years.

This was followed by the treasurer's report given by Dominic Pinto.

The elections for the new committee were conducted by senior SACAA alumni/nae, Cyril Peris and Sudhakar Shetty as the election commissioners.

Following are the members elected as office bearers for the term 2013-2015:

President – Ashley D’Silva

Vice-president – Elwyn Mascarenhas

Treasurer – Neethan Cutinha

General secretary – Kiran Sunny

Secretary, member affairs – Alzeena Pinto

Sports and cultural secretary – Sujay Martis

Secretary, public relations – Prashant K

Joint secretary, member affairs – Pearl D’Souza

Joint general secretary – Adrian Pais

Sports and cultural joint secretary – Darrel D’Souza

The advisory committee for the new term was also constituted with Vinutha D’Mello as its president.

The newly elected president in his inaugural message asked not only the committee but the entire SACAA alumni/nae fraternity for their wholehearted cooperation and support to make this a successful term.

All ex-Aloysians residing in Kuwait are requested to register their names as members of SACAA Kuwait on sacaaq8@gmail.com.

To ensure that SACAA Kuwait is also part of the social media, there is a group created on Facebook SACAA-KUWAIT to register yourselves and get acquainted and updated on the latest happenings at SACAA Kuwait.

The new committee has promised to have many social, cultural and community developmental activities to ensure that the alumni/nae have an opportunity to meet and mingle with other alumni/nae who have walked the portals of this famed institution during the last few decades.
