Mangalore, Feb 26: The 7th graduation ceremony (2012-13 batch) and 8th academic year inaugural of the St Aloysius Institute of Education was held on Tuesday February 25 at 2:30 pm in the college auditorium.
Cheluvaraju B, police inspector, Bunder-Mangalore, the chief guest of the programme inaugurated the academic year 2013-14 by lighting the lamp and awarded 61 graduates their certificates on this day.
The ceremony was presided over by Fr Swebert D’ Silva principal, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore. The gathering was cordially welcomed by Farita Viegas, principal of the college. She also presented the annual report of the academic year 2012-13 to the audience.
The graduates were presented by Farita Viegas and Fr Swebert D’ Silva performed the administration of the oath to the graduates.
The award for securing highest marks was awarded to Archana Shenoy, Riya Fernandez and Ranjitha Poojary and the best out going leader prize was awarded to Fiona by Fr Swebert D’ Silva.
On this occasion Sr Josphine Shyalaja BS, the student of 2011-12 batch was honoured by Fr Cyril D’ Mello SJ (director of the college) and all other dignitaries for securing third rank in the B. Ed degree final examination. After which Sandhya, lecturer, administered the oath for the cabinet members of the current batch.
The ceremony began with invoking Almighty’s blessings and a colourful welcome dance. Br Salewo and Lobsang compeered the programme. Prathiksha proposed the vote of thanks.
Delna Lobo and Joshna B-Conveners of the event organized the programme. The programme ended by singing college anthem.
