Man from DK kills kids, commits suicide in Mumbai after wife elopes

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Feb 20: Sridhar Shetty (48), a native of Talapady, who was working as a supervisor in a hotel, committed suicide after poisoning his young kids before hanging himself late night on Tuesday February 18.

Shetty, who used to stay at Ganesh Complex in Nallasopara in the metro, had been facing a crisis in his life, after his wife eloped with a neighbor and started living with the latter in the same neighborhood.

Shetty, who allegedly killed his daughters, Shraddha Shetty (9) and Sai Daya Shetty (3), left behind a suicide note on two walls of the house wherein he said he would not have taken this drastic step if his wife had not deserted him for a youth from the neighborhood. The police, after those living in the locality sounded them on Wednesday morning, rushed to the spot and undertook investigation.

Sonali, wife of Sridhar Shetty, had been reportedly in an illicit relationship with a neighbor named Tejas Anoop Joshi. On Valentine’s Day, Sonali had deserted her husband and children, and started living with Joshi. When Sonali visited him on February 16, Shetty had a fight with her, after she is said to have informed him of her decision to stay with Joshi permanently.

Suffering from a sense of helplessness and depression over this development, Sridhar took this extreme step, after observing that Tejas and Sonali had left the locality on some work, it is gathered.

Its very unfortunate. I know shridhar. He was working with me in NBSA vashi. I have no contact with him after that. Let him commit suicide, but why kill innocent children. This is unmanly. he could have pleaded with his wife to either come back or take her children along. He can never be forgiven. Cruel coward. Shame on him.

This is an another example, many women's activities are highly secret, even if her partners knows he can't tell the girl's family as they support their daughter first and moreover, they are the one giving poison to the daughter to act such a way out nasty and Poor fellow he can't even tell his own family because it is an utter shame.

I know one incident, this poor fellow lost his gulf job and came down to his Mumbai, where his wife and kids were living. First one month all went cool, then the wife started giving him left and right and abused, insulted him wherever possible.
One fine morning he went to Malad station and committed suicide by jumping under running train. Is there any way.. culprit going punished? Because there is no proof nor any clues that his wife is responsible..

It was a step taken desperately while his mind was not in cool thinking status. Had he waited one more day or consulted his parents, brothers or sisters or a reliable friend, he would not have taken this step. And if his wife leaves him, he can still find a suitable wife and live a peaceful life rather than deciding that is the end of this world. Parents have some mercy on the parents.
Same story happened with one of my colleagues, he was so shy to share this information, we managed to convince him and for the sake aging mother, he finally agreed to find a new match, now living happily with kids with promotions. People give up for silly reasons, like business losses, family relationships, etc. Nothing is more precious than living peacefully no matter what.

None of us know what Mr Shetty might have felt when his wife deserted him and his children.. The emptiness of all his effort and loneliness of the future and concern about his children made him to take that decision. Sonali will understand Mr Shetty's flight when her new boyfriend leaves her for good. May the soul died, rest in peace..

Nothing new, before also I wrote a story of three sisters from Mangalore who were in their late 40's , forced by their gay brother in USA divorced their husbands to have affair and live with boys 10 years younger. In one case so much was the urge of adultry that woman through her wedding ring and magalsuthra on the face of her husband in front of her grow17 year old daughter and 20 year old son.facebook and other dating sites played a matchmaker for them. As we all know forty is naughty it is very dangerous age for men, and menopause creates havoc in women and sex is like a opium at this age. family values are disappearing at such a speed that we lost all love for our own children? we are heading to disaster, good work facebook , whats app and tv serials. sorry for the gentleman and his innocent children may almighty God grant them eternal rest.

How long Sonali will live happily with Mr Joshi?

Who knows what is the real reason behind she is running away from her Family? May be lack of time Sridhar spending with wife and children?

Why Sridhar had not consulted with anyone? If consulted and Sonali not gave any damn, then why Sridhar not divorced her? Why commit suicide?

How can Sonali leave her 2 kids and elope? How cruel she is?

May the departed soul of 3 rest in peace.

A very well reply from sister.. Some guys are failed to handle the family life after having all blessings of Almighty God, still weakening to fulfill their basic needs and following their bad desires. Everyone has their own dreams in life to live and lead a happier life with family and nobody wants to destroy it for no reason, but some misfortune happing within the family without their notice. And another side some culprit minded guys waiting to get the opportunity to grasp it by hearing/misusing their emotional life stories and giving hopes to lead a better life with them( rogi bayasiddu adanne and vaidya kottaddu adanne..)So with blind love ladies are keeping trust on them and following them to lead beautiful and dream life and forgetting their quality what they are??!! Is these time pass loves will give her another life?? No way,, he will say we do not want used material and who told you to come with me and you do not have the sense that you have a family and all and if I say jump from the building are you going to do that.. at the end such a common and inhumanity question only she will get it back.. this is strange but true. How can she do like this, if she wanted to stay with Joshi, she could have taken her kids too, how her heart let her go just leaving her minor and innocent kids!!! Million questions to me and really cannot understand how she thought and decided to leave her complete family. Poor Shetty and kids, may their souls rest in eternal peace. I have one request to parents of daughters - please don't be in a hurry for her attaining 18 years, please give your daughter some time to complete her studies, work for a couple of years by when she will understand how difficult it is in the world to survive, she will limit her high expectations and agree to a marriage that you can afford.

Please consider if she has a person of her liking and allow her to live her life with him, don't discourage giving 'cast' related taboos.

I am sure parents of this woman too will have some regrets in life, if we hear the other side of the story, surely there is something that made the girl uninterested in her marriage.

The social media for which most of our young girls are addicted, makes them to run away from responsibilities to get temporary pleasure. They think all that glitters is gold. It all depends on the upbringing of girl child by the parents. The care, loyalty, responsibility is missing, which are so essential in a girl who binds the two families after marriage. I completely agree with Ida Dsilva Paladka. Men are weaker comparing to woman when it matters to emotions. Three lives are lost because of unfaithfulness. God forgive him and grant eternal peace upon the departed souls.

See, I feel it's a case of what kind of a 'Jigar' or mettle you are made of. If you are weak kneed, then you do what SS has done here. The right way, of course, would have been to move on ,taking care of the kids who were innocent anyway.Well, Why should you snuff
off your life for somebody who does not care for you anyway...Is there any logic?
The same should be the case if the husband ditches the wife. There is no use crying over spilled milk or
Also relationships also if you ask me. Calls for a 'tough heart' no doubt, but wise decisions should be taken.

    Manish,

Why women alone should answer to this ? Did she elope with another WOMAN ? Please note, the other 50% blame is on the man who involved with her despite knowing that she is a mother of two ! Why did he not offer to look after the children too ? Perhaps there would have been just one death ?

You sound like this is happening for the first in the history. As if men never deserted their wife any time in the past ! Count the number of men with multiple wives, with the first wife still living to rear children, you will not blame women alone for such incidents !

It's important to note that love with a neighbor does not crop-up overnight, it gives some indication that a person lacks something in his/her personal life. It's important to repair the damages than allowing it to deteriorate.

Sad for the man and two little angles. RIP all three of you.
