Udupi, Feb 17: The members of Popular Front of India (PFI) held a massive 'Unity March' here on Monday February 17 followed by a convention to commemorate PFI Formation Day.

Over 3,000 PFI members and supporters marched in procession from Jodukatte, passing through K M Marg and service bus stand. The rally culminated at Kalsanka Royal Garden ground where the convention was held.

Prior to the formal programme, PFI national general secretary K M Sharif was given a guard of honour.

Addressing the gathering, Sharif warned against letting 'fascist' forces come to power. "Fascism is more dangerous than communalism. If fascist forces come to power, Muslims, Christians, Dalits and other backward classes will be deprived of opportunities," he said.

"Today, because of defective economic policies that are highly inclined towards capitalists, the poor are not progressing. The politicians are in favour of the rich, and are looting the country in the name of globalization and development," he said, citing the example of petroleum and oil companies.

"Power is in the hands of the upper class alone. The minorities, Dalits, and OBCs which form 80 percent of the population have no power at all. We have failed in this front and it is time to strengthen ourselves by getting more people to join our cause," he said.

He also took a dig at RSS and said, "While we are engaged in the process of nation building, the RSS is breaking the country. It has recently come to light that RSS had a hand in terrorist activities."

He further said, "Our mission is to carry out a people's movement. PFI spent Rs 9 crore on educational and economic empowerment programmes last year. This has inspired us to do much more and we are now getting ready with a further plan of action."

Abdul Khader Puttur, chief secretary state PFI,  E Aboobakker Saheb, former national president of SDPI, and Mufti Mohammed Azam, state president of All India Muslim Council were the chief guests.

Deviprasad Shetty of JDS, Jayan Malpe, Ataulla Jokatte, PFI Mangalore president, Nisar Ahmed, PFI Udupi president, Fazil Ahmed and Asif Koteshwar were present.

I have been watching your views, you have been vomitting so much venom against muslims and christians, which is not a good sign for peaceful living.

One fine day, you will drink your own venom and entire of your household shall be full of this venom and by then it would have been late and over. You will be trapped in your own woven web and before its too late, please change your mindset...so you love your countrymen..

    Dear Harold,

What do you say about a provocative speech given by Prabhakar Bhat, who said muslims and christians cant live in India and Togadia who says muslims and christians are not nationalist and should be considered as outsiders and no voting or other civil rights to be given to them, but treated as slaves.. what do you say.. there should be someone or some organisation to counter these fundamentalists and prove them wrong and insists on the equal rights of Indians irrespective of their beliefs.. If we keep quiet lie you, one day will come, that this country will be devided on ethnic lines and a new muslim and christian and dalit state will be born... pls watch and see my brother.

In rallies Rahul Gandhi is shedding tears that his father sacrificed his life for the nation and begging votes in his slain fathers’ name and another side, they safeguarded the murderers for years only for the reason of not losing Tamil votes. What we can expect from this party which is not able to punish the murderers of its own PM. They will go to any extent just to gain some votes.

Meanwhile, PFI's Unity March has turned into violent in Ramnad, TN. 18 people injured, police lathicharge and tear gas fired.

Some days ago, Secular folks criticized VHP/BD over violence in DK. What they gonna say now? Whatever they commented on VHP, same logic applies to PFI.

Recently, Kerala govt informed to Hon Kerala HC that PFI and NDF involved in 27 murders, 86 murder attempts, 106 COMMUNAL cases.

PFI is the contradictory organization to RSS. Any organization dress resembles the solidarity in dress means any time they can revolt when their demands not met even if their motto is good in the beginning. Dear PEDDU, Mangaluru

PFI not trying in religious mix politics, they are trying to retain the Law of India, which is now threatened by RSS, Egypt Story is different that is a Muslim country and INDIA is a SECULAR country do not compare their propaganda

Govt doesn't give permission to PFI when they hold our National Flag on their rally on Aug15, the same time they give permission to RSS host "Bhagwa Flag" in Midnight on Aug14.

PFI cadre is showing their discipline, But RSS rally holding with "talwar" "Sword" on the way of the Rally. This is the different of law.

Your theory applies to RSS and its parivar. Right?? Why you were silent when there were Hindu samajotsava and RSS meet? Why this double standard...I feel you are biased...Tit for tat is the name of the game. Every person or community has the right to self defense.. PFI is not offensive, but surely its defensive..Muslims and Christians are also sons of this great country, India and they do have every right to live a peaceful and honored life any other citizen of India...No one can be deprived or discriminated by virtue of ones faith or belief.. Do u agree??

    Mr. Shanawaz
My message is very clear. I have expressed my views on macro level not micro level. It applies to all, irrespective of the religious affiliated organization. If PFI is not a religious affiliated organization, it should not bother u.

Religion is the opium to society. Religion has only divided people and in the name of religion there have been always division, bloodshed, spreading venom. Those who live in the realm of religion fanatic ideology are the one, who will never respect others as their own fellow citizens, as they have been brainwashed by fanatic ideology.

My message is never been double standard, always to the point. Only one standard, one yard stick and one benchmark.

Brother Shanawaz, Tit for tat is the name of the game is not the answer. Agreed with your views, every person or community has the right to self defense..But history has proved again and again those who have formed group to defend themselves have turned to offensive later on. All organizations, including VHP, BD, IM have proved it again and again.

Respect. Appreciate. Each other. Everybody has a right to live in harmony.

Humanity is the only religion, which has no boundaries.

Request the Govt. of India to ban all rallies which have religious name or religious affiliation in the public places.

If any body wants to raise their voices, let them organize it inside the licensed, approved hall where one can express their views.

Speakers should not forget in every religion there are also very rich biz people who control the folks. We do not require par military type procession. If they are so interested when they should join NCC. in their school/college days.

In Indian soil, one has to salute only to the Indian Nationals Flag.

Devi Prasad Shetty should be nominated as President of PFI or JDS Udupi unit should be merged with SFI as JDS has no scope here.

    Dear Brother KRPrabhu,

This question you should ask with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwath about the "Anwar Manippadi" Why should not nominate him next "RSS sar Sanchalak, Anwar participated RSS rally with "Chadi Vrithdhari" last year in Mangalore.

Kind of your information PFI invites as guest of some political parties includes JDS/SDPI/Congress and also Dalith/Christian Leaders.

PFI is Social Organization Movement and they totally against RSS ideology and their propaganda.

Anwar Manpapadi is an active sangh parivar member and nobody questions his integrity. So was vested with important post in the organisation which you must appriciate.DPS how staunch JDS/PFI supporter may be can not get top post of respective posts for sure or any other big/sincere conggress leader in the country can not become President of Congress Party. You ponder over it.

    Dear Brother KRPrabhu,

PFI doesn't belong of JDS or Congress, DPS is just guest of honors same way he also attended PFI Udupi public program in 2009,

My personal opinion, DPS is not a communal person. He knows the value of every religion beside the politics

My sincere advice to all organizations be it is RSS or PFI first demonstrate the unity by holding an Indian National Flag and not your fundamental mindset flag.Sing Jana Gana Mana and hold your rallys in isolated places and not in congested cities.I must note here that while RSS looks outdated in their Cheddis, PFI looks like Saddam Husein's Brigade. Both groups, please stop your rallies and put yourselves in some charity work.

    Dear Brother Ajith,

PFI was celebrated Freedom Parade on 15th August with Holding our National Flag since 2005 in Kerala Tamilandu and Karnataka,

But Govt denied the permission on that particular day because of security problems.

Then PFI decides to celebrate every year on 17th Feb of their Foundation Day in the name of "Unity March" in every part of India.

The PFI public program always starts with anthem "Sare Janha Se accha Hindustan Humara"
and conclude with "Jana Gana Mana" National anthem.

PFI flag for their Organization Brand, and in another side PFI did lot of charity work not only for particular community they serve all Indians, and also they donated 10 lacks rupees to Uttharkhand CM for Uttharkhand Floods Victims

But i dont think PFI rally is wastage. Because its not a political rally. They spent from the money which they received as a donation.

But the rally which you support today is absolutely spent from tax payers money.Thousands of police forces deployed. The money which they used for secuirty purpose can be used for thousands of toilets all over India.

Dont blindly support anybody because you have a soft corner towards the party which suits your ideology.

Everybody knows the sources of money of these types of religious organizations. From where the money comes, who are the donators, who are the
Beneficiaries, what is there main intentions.

I am not pointing at one particular religion, this is applicable for all religious organizations.
