Udupi, Feb 10: "The social service rendered by the Billawa community without expecting anything in return will be greatly liked by god," said Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.

He was addressing a religious meet held as part of Brahmakalashotsava of Katapady Shree Vishwanath Kshetra at Kaup here on Sunday February 9. Dr Heggade inaugurated and presided over the meet.

"Our elders said compassion is the greatest of religion of all. It is religion that binds all and brings everyone together. A life moulded on the foundation of religion is indeed rewarding and meaningful," he said.

"Renovation work at Katapady Vishwanath Kshetra has been splendid. The sculptures here are marvellous and add more sanctity to the Kshetra," he lauded.

Kerala Shivagiri Math secretary Sri Ritambharananda Swamiji said, "We need to spread the message of Sri Narayana Guru who urged people to achieve independence through education, and carry forward his work of uplifting the weaker sections of society."

Sri Prakashananda Swamiji of Shivagiri Math dedicated the newly renovated Shree Vishwanath Kshetra to the devotees. Shivagiri Math administrative member Karkala Bolluttu Sri Vikhyatananda Swamiji and Sri Satyananda Swamiji of the same Math blessed the occasion.

Urban development minister and district incharge Vinay Kumar Sorake, Katapady Vijay Industries managing director
K Satyendra Pai, Dubai Billawas president Jitendra Suvarna, Udupi zilla panchayat former president B N Shankar Poojary, businessmen Damodar Kunder, Dogra Poojary Ambady, Mohan C Poojary, Jaya K Poojary and others were present as chief guests.

Honorary president of Katapady Shree Vishwanath Kshetra managing committee Jaya C Suvarna, president Ashok M Suvarna, treasurer Madhav Anchan, and renovation committee president Shridhar Bangera were present on the dais.

Kshetra managing committee honorary chief secretary Harishchandra Ameen welcomed. Renovation committee president Vasant V Salian spoke on the renovation work undertake at the temple, while secretary Jagannath Kote proposed the vote of thanks. Appu Master compered the programme.

Brahmakalashotsava was held at the Kshetra with various religious rituals on the same day.
