Mangalore, Feb 8: "Narendra Modi is a day dreamer who thinks he can become the Prime Minister of India by spreading lies. Today, RSS and its Parivar are spreading myths about the development of Gujarat by telling thousands of lies to make one truth. Even Congressmen, advocates, and actors Salman Khan and Ambarish are talking about Modi and his development in Gujarat. This book explains what really has developed in Gujarat. No, there is no development in Gujarat. It is only development of corporate sectors and capitalists. Rural Gujarat, backward castes and Dalits have never been part of the developement," said K N Ashok, state secretary of Komu Souharda Vedike.
He spoke while introducing the second reprint of the book 'Manku Bu(Mo)di - Hitlerra Hejje Jadugalu' by Suresh Bhat Bakrabailu released here on Friday February 7. Former president of Komu Souharda Vedike C N Shetty released the book.
Ashok further said, "There is no electricity in rural Gujarat. Gujarat farmers are facing a number of problems, alcohol is sold in petty shops. Women and children are suffering from malnutrition. Development does not mean only building flyovers, roads and universities. There has been no development of backward class people, Dalits or minorities in Gujarat."
He also said the agenda of 'Hindutva' is different from 'Moditva'. "Development of Gujarat is a lie floated by the RSS and its Parivar. Making Modi as PM is an action plan prepared to preserve Brahminical ideology along with capitalists. The capitalists are being brought by Modi by paying 25,000 dollars to Apco Worldwide marketing agency which plants only positive news about him. Muslims support Modi out of fear. Congress too has a soft corner for Hindutva, as the state government failed to arrest Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat though he made a provocative speech."
Speaking on the subject 'Problems of Republic and Challenges to Democracy' advocate K R Vidhyadhar said, “There is a difference between 'Republic' and 'Democracy'. The concept of republic emerged in Greece. We can also see its existence during time of Buddhism. But during the time of Chandragupta Maurya, Chanakya tried to bring back imperialistic rule through Bramhanical ideology by overthrowing the dynasty of Nandas. Chanakya never liked a republic state and was against it. Democracy should be the will of the people. Any political party which is not secular is a threat to the nation. Constitution should be holier than the scripture of any religion."
G Rajashekar, Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, Ali Hasan and Ismath Pajeer were present.
Ali Hasan welcomed, while Ismath Pajeer compered.
Condolence prayer was offered to Komu Souharda Vedike leader Ananda Kumar.
