Bantwal, Feb 4: Four persons of a family were killed in a horrific accident that took place at Panemangalore here late night on Monday February 3.
The accident took place when a KSRTC bus rammed into an auto rickshaw near Panemangalore bridge on national highway 75.

The deceased have been identified as Bhaskar (45), his wife Prema (35), Jagadish (38) and his wife Suprita (30). All of them died on the spot, sources said. They were residents of Mulibail, Barimar.
Bhaskar and Prema's children Abhijna (8) and Prajna (3), and Jagadish-Suprita's 3-and-a-half-year-old son Nishan were seriously injured and admitted to a private hospital. Nishan's condition is said to be critical.
Bhaskar and Jagadish were sons of Laxman Poojary and Shashikala of Barimar. On Monday night they were returning from a wedding party of their younger brother's sister-in-law when the accident took place.
Bhaskar and Prema had three children, of whom the eldest daughter Munni stayed home while Abhijna and Prajna accompanied them to the party.
It is said that the bus was being driven at a high speed. Police said that the auto rickshaw too was on the extreme right.
Bhaskar was riding the auto rickshaw. The impact of the accident was such that the rickshaw was completely smashed.
Both sons of Laxman Poojary lived in the same house at Barimar. Jagadish had recently started constructing a house.
Bhaskar and Jagadish were among the eight children of Laxman and Shashikala Poojary. Among the eight, five are daughters. Except the youngest daughter who is physically challenged, all the siblings are married. The youngest among the sons, Jayant, runs a shop at Puttur and lives with his wife and children at Mottetadka in Puttur.
A pall of gloom has descended on Laxman Poojary's house, where until now Bhaskar and Jagadish lived with their wives and children.
It is a miracle that three little children survived the ghastly accident. As soon as the accident became known, locals gathered at the spot and helped in the rescue operation. The staff of the 108 emergency service provided first aid to the injured children and rushed them to hospital, which probably saved their lives.
Bantwal circle inspector Rajshekar Mistry and other police officials rushed to the spot.
Bantwal town police have registered a case.
