Kundapur, Feb 3: Fans of Konkani music in Kundapur had a memorable time on Sunday February 2 evening as 'Sangeeth Sardar' Wilson Olivera presented yet another musical nite at the packed Government Junior College grounds. The event was organized by Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Kundapur varado committee.
The programme began with a prayer song by Wilson Olivera, followed by warm welcome by Vinod Crasto, president of Catholic Sabha Kundapur varado committee.
Wilson Olivera along with singers Robin Sequeira, Zeena Pereira, Prashanth Pinto, Carol Monterio, Rony Crasta, Joseph Mathias, and Wilson Olivera's Stuart enthralled the audience right through the evening, rendering song after song that brought the crowd on their feet and evoked loud cheers.
The talented members of Nach Sobhann troupe complimented the songs perfectly with their scintillating dances.
The popular Me-Mo-Ri group of Mellu, Moras and Richha provided a delightful dose of humour that sparked a laughter riot among the audience.
Ronald Olivera, brother of Wilson Olivera compered the event in his usual inimitable style. The eye-catching lights and visual effects added more charm to the show. The music was provided by drummer Sachin, Trinity Live Music Group and School, Mangalore and Manipal.
James D'Mello, on behalf of NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist Ronald Colaco, the main sponsor of the programme and co-sponsor proprietor Molahalli Ganesh Shetty were felicitated by Vinod Crasto, president of Catholic Sabha Kundapur Varado. Fr Anil D'Souza, vicar var and spiritual director of Catholic Sabha felicitated Wilson Almeida, the convener of the programme.
The show was organized in support of four causes - to aid legal committee of Kundapur, the sister concern Catholic Sabha Kundapur varado which helps the community people on legal issues, the Shevot Pratisthan, another sister concern of Catholic Sabha Kundapur varado which encourages meritorius students of the Catholic community and poor students to complete their education, thirdly, in aid of St Mary’s Pre-university College, Kundapur and to assist awareness programmes of the Catholic Sabha.
Reshma Fernandes compered the progamme. Shanthi Pereira, secretary of Catholic Sabha Kundapur varado proposed the vote of thanks.
