Mangalore, Feb 1: On January 31 Dr Shabista Gaffar, chairperson of commitee on girls education, National Minorities Commission, Govt of India visited the campus of Bearys Institute of Technology and delivered a talk on employment of the girl child through education.
The event was hosted by the campus director Dr Sainath and presided by the principal Dr S A Khan and senior advisor Dr S A Raikar.
In her address Dr Shabista Gaffar spoke about the need to impart education among all walks of life. She stressed on the importance and role of women education in nation building. She spoke about the challenges and hurdles faced in providing education and congratulated all the institutions working towards narrowing the bridge of illiteracy and improving the quality of life among people.
She pointed the need for widespread awareness of education among the minority community especially among the women and spoke about certain measures which needs to be taken with regard to the same.
The event was concluded by the vote of thanks presented by Prof Sheikh Mohideen HOD , Department of Information Science BIT.
