Los Angeles, Jan 15 (IANS): The Dorian Awards, an annual endeavour organised by the Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association (GALECA), will honour actress Lily Tomlin with its Timeless Star tribute.
The Timeless Star tribute is given to "an actor or performer whose exemplary career is marked by character, wisdom and wit".
The group, which consists of 80 entertainment journalists in the US and Europe, unveiled nominations for its annual Dorian Awards Tuesday, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
Movies like "American Hustle", "Blue is the Warmest Color", "Dallas Buyers Club", "Gravity", "Her", "Laurence Anyways" and "12 Years A Slave" will fight for the top honours in the Film of the Year category.
The actors competing for the Film Performance of the Year actor award are Leonardo DiCaprio ("The Wolf of Wall Street"), Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years A Slave"), James Franco ("Spring Breakers"), Jared Leto ("Dallas Buyers Club") and Matthew McConaughey ("Dallas Buyers Club")
In the best actress category, Cate Blanchett ("Blue Jasmine"), Sandra Bullock ("Gravity"), Judi Dench ("Philomena"), Adele Exarchopoulos ("Blue is the Warmest Color") and Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years A Slave") have been nominated.
Nominees for the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) Film of the Year are "Blue is the Warmest Color", "Dallas Buyers Club", "Kill Your Darlings", "Laurence Anyways" and "Philomena".
Movies in the Foreign language Film of the Year category are "Blue is the Warmest Color", "The Great Beauty", "The Hunt", "I'm So Excited!", "Laurence Anyways" and "Out in the Dark".
On the TV side, the nominees for the best drama are "American Horror Story: Coven", "Behind the Candelabra", "Breaking Bad", "Mad Men" and "Orange Is the New Black".
The winners' name will be announced Jan 21 and GALECA's annual toast will be held March 9.
