Mangalore, Jan 9: Infosys Mangalore partnering with Microsoft conducted a two day’s 'Hack-a-thon' Contest for the Engineering Students at their SEZ Campus, Mudipu on January 6.
The aim and objective was to showcase the technological innovation, enhance their technical skills and develop solution to the obstacles faced in the IT industry.
Considering various parameters such as innovation, creativity, and performance, two best teams 1) P.A. College of Engineering and 2) Srinivas Institute of Technology students who excelled in the workshop were felicitated and the merit certificates were awarded by the Chief of Development Centre, Mangalore Division Mr. Gopi K.K.
This event was organised to design and ideate an innovative application based on the theme ‘Windows 8 App for Social Good’. 32 brilliant students representing 7 professional colleges participated in this contest.
Several innovative ideas were introduced and presented by the participants and the best ideas were recognised. All the ideated designs will be further developed and are expected to be available in Windows Stores shortly. On this occasion, IT Experts from Microsoft conducted technical sessions and enlightened the students with latest insights, inputs into technology and windows devices were showcased as well.
