Mangalore: Gold worth Rs 22 lac stolen from house at Pandeshwar

Mangalore, Jan 6:
An unidentified gang broke open the front door of a house in Pandeshwar with an intention to rob in the wee hours of Sunday December 29.

The theft was reported in the house of Hassan Saheb which is located at HMS compound, close to Railway gate in Pandeshwar, Mangalore.

According to the family sources, ornaments and foreign currency worth Rs 22 lacs has been robbed from the house. Hassan's daughter Parveen Esak who is a resident of Thokkottu has registered a complaint.
 
The incident happened while the house was vacant as the residents had gone for a visit to the relatives house. 
 
On learning the fact that the house was vacant, the thieves allegedly entered into the house by breaking the lock of the front door, the family sources said.
 
According to the copy of the compliant, the family claims that valuables of at least Rs 22 lacs have been looted from the wardrobe storage. A case has been registered at the Mangalore South Police station.
