Mangalore, Jan 5: On the occasion of accomplishment of 25 glorious years in the field of physiotherapy, the students of Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy welcomed the new year with a bang by conducting the 25th Fresher’s Day at The Ocean Pearl, Mangalore on Friday January 3.
Dr L Gladson Jose, principal, Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy, addressed the guests with his welcome speech.
The chief guest for the function was Dr Rajeshwari Devi, DMO, Govt. Wenlock District Hospital, Mangalore. She welcomed the fresher students by giving them roses.
In her speech, she praised the staff and students of Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy for their dedication and hardwork which has been observed during their clinical postings at Wenlock Hospital. Dr M R Shetty, Founder Secretary, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust, presided the function and highlighted the need of good physiotherapists in the society in his presidential speech. He revealed the history of the college, mentioning that the journey begun in 1989. It is the pioneer in the field of Physiotherapy colleges in Karnataka.
Professor Hema Urmila Shetty, trustee, Dr M V Shetty memorial trust gave away the key note and mentioned that there is no hierarchy in any profession. Each profession is unique in its own way. Dr Ranjeet Shetty and Dr Divyanjali Shetty, trustees, Dr M V Shetty memorial trust, uplifted the occasion by their presence.
On this auspicious occasion, when the college has completed 25 years in the field of physiotherapy, students felicitated their beloved chairman, Dr M Ramgopal Shetty and professor Hema Urmila Shetty, Trustee, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust.
The fresher UG and PG students shared their experience about the new college on this occasion. The press release was given by Dr. U.T. Iftikar Ali, Syndicate member, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and Professor, Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy.
