How to accessorise your New Year party look

Los Angeles, Dec 27 (IANS): Accessorising your party look is as important as choosing the right attire for any party. For New Year's eve, be a show-stealer, says designer Pawan Sachdeva, who suggests must-haves for men and women.

"It is important to focus on accessories also when one is planning a party as it not only enhances the personality, but also makes you look glamorous," Sachdeva told IANS.

For men:

- Footwear: With a formal attire, one can wear black, brown or tan lace-ups. Slim and pointed leather shoes look good with a pair of jeans. One can match the jeans with lace-up shoes in suede or leather, and for an outdoor party, opt for leather boots.

- Accessories: For a formal look, accessories to look out for are ties, pocket squares, belts and shoes. For a semi-formal look, add in a muffler, hat and stylish leather boots.

For women:

- Footwear: To put your best foot forward for a formal party, opt for a nice pair of heels, preferably matching the outfit and not just plain black. It could be a pair of metallic or coloured heels if you are opting for a black dress. For an outdoor party, leather boots will be a safer bet. For clubbing, opt for a more comfortable pair of shoes

- Accessories: Don’t go overboard with accessories. You must add a tingle of sparkle and colour to your look with accessories, but stick to the minimum.
