Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (DV)

Mangalore, Dec 26: “My husband committed suicide due to mental harassment by Diwakar Rai, president of Aranthodu-Thodikana Vyvasaya Seva Sarakari Bank,” alleged Bharathi K, wife of Teertharam, manager of Aranthodu-Thodikana Vyvasaya Seva Sarakari Bank, who committed suicide by shooting himself on February 28, 2013.

She was addressing the press meet held here on Wednesday December 25.

She also alleged, “Three times I had go to Sullia police station to file a complaint against the accused but the police did not file an FIR.

They took eight months to file an FIR and finally on September 9, 2013 they did so. But, till today the accused have not been taken into custody or submitted to further inquiry. The accused are powerful persons and they have mentally harassed my husband due to which he committed suicide. The president and vice president are the main reason for my husband’s death. Already, the case has been handed over to the CID but this case should be given to the CBI.”

“While he was working as manager of Aranthodu-Thodikana Vyvasaya Seva Sarakari Bank, he was tortured mentally and used as an instrument, hence this case should be handed over to the CBI for further investigation,” added Bharathi.

She also continued and said, “We are under threat, hence, the police should provide protection to me and my daughter.”

Krishna B, father of Teertharam said, “On February 28, my son came home early around 12, and when I asked why he was early he said he had problems with his manager.”

On this occasion Lakshman Gowda, Roopakala D Rai, and Shrinivasa were present.
